My Video Works (1998–2025) depicts a pile of hard drives in oil paint. These drives have stored my video works and related materials since 1998—they are the original vessels of my moving images. Arranged neatly according to their year, model, and size, they reflect nearly three decades of evolution and transformation in digital storage technology. Rendered in neutral tones and even lighting, the painting emphasizes the structure and order of the hard drives’ forms. By translating the temporal process of video creation into a still-life composition, the work responds to the speed and technological nature of contemporary image production through the slow, material labor of painting.
