BIOGRAPHY

CHUN-YI CHANG
Born in Taipei, live and work in Taipei

Chun-Yi Chang is an artist and curator. She holds an MFA from the École Supérieure d’Art et Design de Rouen and a PhD in Aesthetics and Plastic Arts from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. She conducted postdoctoral research at the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme (FMSH) in Paris and has participated in artist residencies at the International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP) in New York and the 18th Street Arts Center in Los Angeles. Her interdisciplinary practice encompasses video, sound, painting, multimedia installation, and web-based media. Her early works reconstruct what has irretrievably vanished through “game/event,” bringing the enduring into relief amid states of constant flux. In recent years, her work has focused on the interpenetration of online and offline realities, vocal mediation, and mass media. Her work has been exhibited in Taiwan, France, Poland, and Tunisia, including at the Rencontres d’Arles in France. Her artistic practice explores the symbiotic potential between artistic creation and curatorial practice, seeking shared modes of creative thinking and latent multidirectional connections across different artistic fields. Her curatorial projects include To Martian Anthropologists, Daily+: The 2nd Greater Taipei Biennial of Contemporary Art, and Air Plant, among others.
