BIOGRAPHY
CHUN-YI CHANG
Born in Taipei, live and work in Taipei
Artist & Curator. PhD in Aesthetics and Plastic Arts from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and an MFA from the École Supérieure d'Art et Design de Rouen, she develops an interdisciplinary practice that encompasses video, sound, multimedia installations, and web-based art. Her work focuses on reconstructing "vanished traces" within the dialectic of games and events, contrasting the ephemeral with the persistent to explore possibilities beyond linear time.
A recipient of prestigious grants from the Gerda Henkel Foundation (Germany) and the "Vision and Innovation" scholarship (France), she conducted postdoctoral research at the Fondation Maison des sciences de l'homme (FMSH) in Paris. Her work is held in the permanent collection of the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts and has been exhibited internationally, including at the Rencontres d'Arles (France), as well as in the United States, Poland, and Tunisia.
Approaching her practice from the dual perspective of artist and curator, she explores the symbiotic potential between creative production and exhibition-making. Her recent research focuses on the interpenetration of human behavior, vocal mediation, and network media in the digital age, examining how online and offline realities co-construct contemporary collective consciousness.
